A strong feeling for the New Zealand landscape flavours Marcus Ebbett's work, leaning toward nautical themes that reflects his interest in sailing, diving and fishing. The majority of his work is painted in oils but he also uses watercolour and acrylic with flair. 

He is a member of and has exhibited at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. He takes part in the local Kapiti Arts Trail and is also an exhibiting member of Watercolour New Zealand and an Artist Member of the Otago Art Society.
