London-based Brian Fawcett is a Director of Photography who creates distinctive, personal films and photographs. His work looks for the gestures in his subjects, lingering on the small things and pronouncing them. He creates a sense of closeness and conveys a sense of calmness in his scenes which allows the viewer to feel like they're involved; close enough to feel like they're taking part but not quite close enough to be noticed.
Brian spent several years working in the film industry and then a good stint at the National Film school where his graduation film 'Blackwater' went on to be shown at many international festivals picking up prizes in Greece and LA, and making the selection for Camerimage in Poland.
Since then he's been shooting around the world on a wide range of projects; commercials, fashion films, music promos, documentaries and shorts.
To further convey a sense of inclusion we created a bespoke site for Brian that presents his work in a larger than life way. Utilising full-screen imagery and video that fills your browser, each project demands your attention and immerses you in his style of work; scaling the imagery and video content as large as possible to bring you further into it.
With imagery filling every available pixel we used diagonal and offset overlays to house text elements and to obscure his cover images, leading the viewer forwards into the projects to discover more. Rendered in light monochromes and with a salmon pink colour the tones of Brian's bespoke theme compliments the warm tones of his work.
