Us are music & commercials directors.
This is their Fabrik.
Us are Christopher Barrett and Luke Taylor. They met while studying at Kingston on the BA Graphic Design course. The duo's first successful collaboration came in the form of a music video for Thom Yorke as part of the D&AD student awards, winning 1st place. In late 2007 they formed Us, a multi-disciplinary design studio, the focus of which then moved towards directing & moving image work.
2011 saw them receive the award for Best New Directors at the UK MVA's and Best Urban video for 'Numbers In Action' which also received a MOBO nomination. Their teaser film for Benga’s new album, has received accolades highlighted from Creative Review, Shots and The Reel. The sculpture created in the film has also been bought by Soundcloud. Their excellent join the dots promo for Foals was also a Vimeo 'Staff Pick'.
Commercially, Us have directed work for Honda, Talk Talk, McDonalds and The Sunday Times through Grey, London. The latter has recently been included in the Saatchi & Saatchi New Director Showcase, won the Young Director Award for Best Broadcast Commercial and picked up a Bronze Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival.
Chris and Luke are part of Fabrik's founding team and here they're using a customised version of our Calico theme for their site. They've kept things minimal throughout, splitting their portfolio into Commercials and Music Videos. Simple cover image layouts let the work speak for itself. Each project is accompanied by a series of stills which gives the project page a distinctive look within their portfolio.
If a picture can speak a thousand words then your cover image is pretty important. Our themes and layouts have options to display large, high-focus cover images for your projects and blog posts. If you’re looking for an ultra-slick portfolio we can cover your video files with a clickable high-resolution cover image too.
Take advantage of tagging to give your projects and blog articles context. Tags enable your audience to focus and filter your content to get to what they want to see faster.
Adding video from YouTube couldn’t be easier. Simply paste in the YouTube URL of your video and you’re good to go. Even a cat can do it. Seriously, we did a test.
